Emily Drake has more than a decade of experience helping adults “get unstuck,” particularly as they face major career transitions and relationship challenges. She believes the power of therapy stands within the client-therapist relationship, where people can be seen and affirmed for who they are and begin living their most authentic life.
Emily’s non-judgmental approach is rooted in strength-based philosophies and self-psychology, with a firm understanding of addiction and 12-Step frameworks. She empowers her clients to look within and be brave in the choices they make on the road to fulfillment. She regularly hears from clients, “I’ve never told anyone that before” and considers it a privilege to bear witness to the freedom that comes from letting go of shame.
In addition to her role at Recover Restore, Emily is CEO of The Collective Academy, a career and leadership development organization working with corporate clients to advance the human development goals of leaders and leadership teams. During her time running programming and operations, she has helped hundreds of people find greater fulfillment in their work, and thus their lives.
Previously serving in leadership roles at several nonprofits, Emily specialized in workforce and youth development. She also worked as a counselor within the world of higher education, assisting student veterans and their families with transitioning to civilian life.
Emily holds an MA in Community Counseling from Northeastern Illinois University and sees clients in Recover Restore’s Chicago office.
